    Muttstock Dog Festival

    The Muttstock Dog Festival 2018 is scheduled to be held on July 7th from 11am until 6pm. This fun-filled annual event features a huge gathering of dogs and dog-lovers, who take part in a day-long music festival, here at Edmonton. The cost effective day out with your dog includes great games, a water park an off-leash park as well as an activity hall for your doggies to have a blast.
    The festival also works towards animal welfare with fund raising for animal rescues and various NGO’s that work towards their betterment.

     

    Doggie Dip for YMCA’s Strong Kids Initiative

    Yet another activity with a great purpose, the Jamie Platz family YMCA will let you bring your doggy-o to hit the pool this August, before it is drained out for an annual shutdown for some time. All proceeds will go towards the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign. You can pick a slot to fit your pooch’s criteria of a small or big dog and register at your local YMCA with a minimum fee of 12 dollars.

     

    ACTSS Halloween Extravaganza

    This Halloween, you can choose to attend a costume gala filled with fun and frolic with your pups as the center of attraction. By registering for the ACTSS Halloween Extravaganza, you can take your whole crew for an evening of great food and fun, with a chance to win the Pup and People Costume Contest. So get those costume ideas going!

     

    Dog Behavior and Training Methodology Certificate

    Training your dog is not a cakewalk. If you’re looking to be able to train your dog professionally, you can opt for a certificate course in September, conducted by the Edmonton Humane Society. In case you have some behavioral issues with your dog, you could seek help from the on-field experts with special discussion and question-answer sessions.

    The course spans over a period of six weeks, with classes every Monday and Thursday from 5:15pm to 8:30pm. Registrations are open for adults over 18 years of age with a recent tetanus vaccination given.

     

    Dogs with Wings- Boots, Buckles and Bones: A Hound’s Hoedown

    An annual gala fundraiser organized by the Dogs with Wings Assistance Dog society on October 20, 2018 at the Italian Cultural Society- the event features a night of a great dinner, live and silent auctions and a barn dance. The themed event this year is all about the wild, wild western ways. Dogs with Wings raise money via the gala in order to provide for therapy dogs and companion dogs for people with disabilities.
