1. When the MFC reads INK EMPTY, it is normal for the ink to remain in the cartridge. This is required to assure that the print heads perform well and print quality of your work is high.
2. If an ink cartridge runs out of ink, the print head may be permanently damaged. Brother ink cartridges are intended to stop printing before this happens.

3.Brother ink cartridges are packaged to account for print head maintenance, but this has no impact on the amount of printed text you may expect from it.
